I looked online and found the "Mother of All Camping Checklists" which I promptly downloaded and edited to suit myself. I showed it to John and he pointed out my redundancies, so I worked on it again. And again. I finally made myself a cool list that is all color coded and has the stuff on it that I don't want to forget, grouped so everything will be organized.
Next, we started going through things. What do I have? What does he have? Which is better? What do we have do buy? The one big item was the cooler. We want a 5-day cooler which will hold our food for several days. We ended up with a 50 quart igloo 5-day, which appears to be pretty good. Not a YETI but still...
Now I have a lot of our equipment spread out in the sun room of John's house, and a list. I plan on using tubs to organize and contain a lot of the equipment. Biggest thing to remember - it all has to fit in the car!
