Every time I have the chance, I get on my laptop and enjoy the latest edition of your blogs. They are charming. Congratulations on you ascent of Half Dome. What an accomplishment! I enjoyed your description of the Pacific Ocean and its colors. When in the Navy I had many chances to see the Pacific in its varied moods. I've seen it inky blue, grey, and so on. I've seen it when it looked leaden and perfectly smooth under a perfectly calm grey sky when it looked like you could just step out and walk on it. I've looked out from the fantail of our ship when we were running at flank speed at night and our six props excited the microbes in the ocean to phosphor so there was a 60-foot wide white band showing in the black ocean as far as you could see. I've seen it perfectly wild, white, and blue when we were refueling from a tanker at high apeed on a brilliant day. The interaction of the waves from both ships created the wildness.
Love, Dad
Drew, you have a true poet's heart. Beautiful!
