We slept in this morning, at least until 7:15. It was glorious since we didn’t get to sleep until after midnight last night. It rained last night but we stayed dry in the new tent.
John called some of his buddies while I re-arranged the car to make room for Sean in the car. We showered and headed to town.
Lunch was with one of John’s friends, Skeeter, at Freshie’s. It’s a cool restaurant, and we had greek salads. I really enjoyed getting to know Skeeter.
Right across the street is a car wash, and with all the rain, the car needed it, so that was the next stop. As the attendant wiped the last drop off the windshield, it started raining. Of course! Sean says it really hasn’t rained much at all until we got here.
We drove up part of Buffalo Pass to see the surrounding area. There are lots of mountains with aspen, pines, and scrub oak. Then, I got the grand tour of all the big homes in Steamboat and we hiked up to Fish Creek Falls. It’s a 280 foot waterfall. There is an upper falls, but we didn’t have time to hike the two miles up and two miles back before Sean got off work.
We went to the library to use the internet and then went to Sean’s house for dinner. Grilled tuna steaks, salad, bread, and strawberry shortcake. Yum! After dinner we played this card game called Hand and Foot. Sean only cared about beating me, and for a while I was ahead of him. We laughed and had a really great game.
Tomorrow, Strawberry park, movies and catching up with friends.
